Painting Series
Gradient Square

Work Gradient Square :

In the Square Gradient series, the geometric form becomes a space for expression in its own right. The repeated concentric square structure organizes the composition while guiding the gaze toward its luminous center. Colors flow in a gradual sequence from light to dark, creating a sense of depth and inner movement. Worked with a palette knife, these paintings combine material and rhythm, as the layered application of paint gives texture and density to the surface. The precision of the gesture contrasts with the fluidity of color transitions, balancing control and sensitivity. The result is a vibrant calmness, where light seems to take shape through color itself.

Techniques and materials :

The paintings in the Square Gradient series are created with acrylic paint on bleached cotton canvas stretched over a wooden frame. The surface is shaped using a palette knife, following a steady movement that forms a concentric square gradient from the center outward. The generous application of paint produces a textured relief that captures light and enhances the sense of depth. Vivid and iridescent tones are selected for their contrasts and shifting reflections, giving each composition its own dynamic balance. A glossy aerosol varnish is applied as a final layer, protecting the surface while emphasizing the brilliance of the hues and the richness of the material.
