The Shine series plays with light as the primary material of painting. It emerges from a concentric movement, forming a point of origin that seems to radiate beyond the canvas. Through the interplay of gradients and contrasts, these compositions capture the viewer’s gaze and evoke a vibrant, almost hypnotic energy. Techniques and materials :
The paintings in the Shine series are created with acrylic paint on bleached cotton canvas stretched over a wooden frame. The material is worked using spatulas of various sizes, allowing the gesture to adapt to the different formats of each piece.
The generous application of acrylic paint creates a textured surface that captures light and enhances the sense of movement characteristic of the series. The artist employs both vivid hues and iridescent colors, whose reflections shift subtly depending on the viewing angle. Each canvas is protected with a glossy varnish applied by aerosol spray, ensuring brilliance, depth, and lasting durability for the compositions.
