Painting Series
Cycle

Work Cycle :

The Cycle series is built around circular forms and precise geometric lines, creating compositions where rhythm and structure interact. The circle plays a central role: a symbol of renewal, continuity, and cycles, it becomes the visual anchor around which each painting is organized. Circles, arcs, and segments follow one another like mechanisms in motion, while the dotted areas introduce a visual tempo, almost like a pulse. Colors, sometimes warm and vivid, sometimes cool or iridescent, unfold in layered gradients, adding depth and vibration to the surface. This circular construction evokes natural cycles, transforming energies, or symbolic systems where form becomes language. The works combine the precision of drawing with a compass and ruler with the sensitivity of the painter’s gestures, resulting in an aesthetic that is both graphic and cosmic.

Techniques and materials :

The works in the Cycle series are created on cotton canvas using acrylic paint, with a combination of brushwork and acrylic markers for outlines and dotted details. The circles, arcs, and repeating motifs are drawn with the help of a compass and a ruler, ensuring the series’ characteristic geometric precision. Color is applied in successive layers to create gradients and dynamic contrasts, while the dotted patterns, aligned or dispersed, add a distinctive visual texture. Each painting is protected with an aerosol varnish, enhancing durability and bringing out the depth and brilliance of the pigments, whether matte, glossy, or subtly iridescent.
