In this composition, colour seems to condense and then spread out in successive circles, like a warm breath extending from an incandescent core. Reds and oranges blend with darker shadows to create a visual pulsation, almost telluric, evoking both embers and the eruption of inner energy.
The spiral layers of material guide the eye towards a centre of intensity, while the surface reflections suggest a warmth that is moving, alive, almost expanding.
