Light textured abstract painting | Strata of Light

This contemporary painting stands out for its strong emphasis on material, built from layered shapes with irregular contours and deliberately pronounced reliefs.

Modelled with a palette knife using texture paste and then painted with acrylics by brush, it develops a light composition dominated by off-white, beige, cream and soft grey tones.

The variations in thickness create natural areas of shadow that change with the lighting and reinforce the depth of the surface.

The overall result remains restrained and luminous, with a neutral palette designed to fit easily into a contemporary, minimalist or naturally toned interior.

The edges are painted in Titanium Buff, a slightly warm off-white that discreetly extends the colors of the main surface.

A matte varnish protects the surface while preserving the mineral appearance and the readability of the reliefs.

In this composition, the forms overlap and interlock in irregular layers, creating a fragmented surface where light becomes an integral part of the work. Cream, off-white, beige and soft grey tones form a calm palette, enhanced by the natural shadows that settle between the raised areas.

The differences in level create several points of focus. Some areas move forward while others recede slightly into depth, producing a changing visual reading as the light shifts. The free contours break away from any overly rigid structure and bring a more organic quality to the composition.

The work conveys a clear and quiet atmosphere in which texture takes precedence over color. Reliefs, recessed areas and subtle tonal variations create a soft, mineral and luminous presence.
